Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you shoot digital or film?
Yes and yes. I'm hybrid: while quite a lot of my work is digital, I also shoot medium and large format film. I have a true love for toy cameras, antique cameras, the newest digital cameras, and really sexy lenses. This makes for heavy camera bags ... but allows me to create the highest quality and most varied images of your wedding. Of course, all the vintage processes involve film.

Do we get to keep our negatives?
We often handle all the reprint orders, but a disc of the high resolution digital files and film scans is included with every wedding package. Children's and portrait session negatives are available complimentary with an album purchase.

For weddings, do you require a list of the photos we’d like taken?
I do require a list of any formal family and wedding party photographs you’d like—but we have a tried-and-true starter list to help you out! I also like to know if there are special guests who’ve traveled from very far to be at your wedding or if you have any other unique requests. Besides that, I’m really just happy to photograph your day as it happens.

How many posed photos will you take at our wedding?
That depends mostly on the list of group photographs you request. The group photographs are very posed of course. Your couple portraits are more coached than posed. And everything else—say, 90% of your day—is photographed documentary style. If you’re looking to have lots of photographs with your guests, the photo booth is highly recommended. Particularly for fun and outgoing groups.

How soon will we be able to see our photographs?
We post proof images in a password protected online gallery 6-8 weeks after your wedding. Images from engagement and other portrait sessions may be viewed online about two weeks after the session. We rush process birth & delivery sessions, so those images are usually available online within 48 hours.
